WHO WE ARE

UHOA Legacy and Impact

History of the UHOA

The United Homeowner Associations of Bloomfield Township, Inc. (UHOA) was founded in 1956 as the Federated Civic Associations of Bloomfield Township, Inc., a non-profit dedicated to enhancing the welfare of its member organizations and the Bloomfield Township community. Its original Articles of Incorporation aimed to address civic issues, promote member interests, and advance township well-being, with authority to manage properties and services. As membership grew, the organization renamed itself United Homeowner Associations of Bloomfield Township, Inc. in 1988, filing a Certificate of Amendment with Michigan to reflect its focus and extend its term to perpetuity.

For over 69 years, the UHOA has driven positive changes in Bloomfield Township, staying true to its mission. Today, it unites over 30 homeowner and condominium associations to preserve, promote, and improve neighborhoods through united action.

Mission and Values

The UHOA believes strongly in the power of organized community associations to maintain property values and foster community. Its mission is to promote vibrant neighborhoods through good governance, quality schools, and civic engagement. The UHOA serves as a resource for homeowner and condo associations, helping them navigate operational, procedural, and urgent issues.

Governance and Community Impact

The UHOA is led by a seven-member Board of Directors, dedicated volunteers who uphold its mission to “assist and educate.” The board organizes seminars, round-table discussions, and meetings, and maintains a digital library for association management resources. Through these efforts, the UHOA has strengthened Bloomfield Township, fostering connected neighborhoods, promoting civic involvement, supporting quality education, and advocating effective governance, empowering member associations to thrive.
